[Content and form of the methods for evaluating the psychophysical conditions of workers]
Abstract
The occupational health surveillance (OHS) is the tool used to check the worker's health status. The aims of the OHS are the early diagnosis, the evaluation of the "fitness to work" and the appraisal of the risk assessment and risk management effectiveness. The tools used for the OHS must be sensitive, specific and predictive. Moreover, they must be ethically correct and not invasive. To reach the aims of the OHS it is necessary to make a holistic clinical evaluation avoiding checking only the target organs. The fitness to work must be considered a part of the risk management.
